Brand New Website on the Horizon
I am so excited about this new adventure that I am 'bout ready to bust! LOL
So Beneath the Attic Eaves(BTAE) has been doing quite well on Ebay since we started it. More and more folks have been joining the fun. Some amazing creations have been getting created.
Deb and I had been talking about ways to expand and get the BTAE name out to more and more folks.
Many Ebay groups seem to be expanding to websites and we thought.....why not us too???
So we are!
BENEATH THE ATTIC EAVES is going to have a website! YIPPPPPPPEEEEE
We spent many hours searching and looking at different places. We have opted to go with a DIYeStore hosted thru Primmart. ( I already have my website thru them and know the staff well. Figured I wanted good quick help if I got stuck along the way with a new site!)
The launch date is going to be MAY 1, 2007.
Make sure to mark that date down on your calendar right now so that you will make sure to check us out.
We will be hosting new works of art on the 1st of the month and the 15th of the month.
The gals are so excited and are busy crafting goodies already! heehee

Back Porch Pickins
I am MADLY in love with this womans creations! She has mastered making animals with the round heads that I am in love with. I know that with enough time and practice that I would have been able to create something....but these patterns are amazing works of art!
I of course had to get the kitties as soon as I was told of them. My friends know me oh so well!LOL
Tonya was amazing to deal with. She and I have sent a few different emails back and forth now. Any questions that arise from the patterns, she is right there ready to help you out. I like a creator that is willing to help out.
I looked yesterday at her goodies and low and behold...... she had a rabbit! heehee

Another Round Head Doll
This little gal was my next attempt and I had just as much fun! She has painted eyes and fabric eyelids. I had some wonderful red dyed sheeps wool and it just made her pop!

The Next Step in Dolls
I am always sketching and drawing out new primitive dolls. I will see something that sparks my interest and next thing I know...I am trying my hand at it. Over the last little while, I had been seeing more and more prim dolls being created with a round 3d shaped head. I was really liking the way it looked and had so many ideas spring to life.
My first step....... grab an orange! LOL
Figured since it was already in the shape that I needed to make, I would peel apart the orange to get the shape I needed to sew. Simple right? Well lets just say that it took a few oranges to get my final shapes! LOL
This now seems to be the style I am creating with at the moment as I just finish one and a whole new idea pops into my head for another.

One of my friends on Primmart made a post about them and how she was ordering herself a pair. It just snowballed from there and so many of us have ended up with a pair! heehee
Eric bought me mine and he was being so sneaky about as he wanted it to be a surprise. He had even deleted an email from the company when he ordered them. I ended up catching the email about being shipped though so knew I was getting a pair. They are soooo comfy!

We had sooooo much fun!
I have never played so many games of Crazy8's or GoFish in my life heehee
They taught me how to play a card game called 7Up as well that we all had fun with.
I took them to the library for an afternoon and got some books out.
But the highlight of the vacation was when we all went bowling!!!
We did this the day before their parents went back home. There is a local bowling alley in Digby that we went to for the afternoon. My father used to bowl all the time and was so excited. My sister and I hadn't bowled in many many moons!

Morning!
Could not keep my eyes open last night so proceeded to shut the computer all down before I awoke to my face planted on the keyboard. I speak from experience....its not really comfy!LOL
Crawled into bed and snuggled down under the blankets.....yup....you guessed it....wide awake!
That just drives me nuts. So I grab a book from the headboard and started reading for a bit. Nothing earth shattering....just a crazy ol fluff novel from the library I had picked up.
My knotted muscle in my ....errrr....... "cheek" was causing me to shift around alot. Eric got up and filled the hotwater bottle for me and wrapped it in a towel. I laid on that and it was wonderful! Next thing I knew....I was asleep! heehee
We slept in this morning and as comfy as I was in bed...I had too many things racing thru my mind to sleep. I got dressed and came in here on the puter again. I can hear him snoring away now...... bet he is on my side of the bed! LOL

2nd Primmart Convention
KANSAS CITY MO....... here we come AGAIN! heehee
Yup! Primmart is hosting another convention and Eric is taking me to it! WoooHoooo!!!!
I am beyond excited this time round. Way less nervous so that makes for a much better trip already for Eric! LOL I drove the guy near crazy last year with hot and cold flashes.
The convention is being held the first weekend in May this year. Almost double the amount of folks are going. I can't wait to see the gals from last year and then to meet new gals as well.
Many of us are actually arriving a day early.....just so we can get a bit more time to hang out with each other. I get all giggly thinking about the trip already.
I am rooming with Megan again and can't wait! She and I share a brain I'm positive!LOL
Lots of classes and laughter.......oh its going to be a blast!
I will post pictures for sure for all to see! Well.....those that I can make public! LOL

A really great friend of mine and fellow dollie maker had shown a few of her newest dollies to us. While loving all of them of course....one really stood out for me. I zoned right in on her neck. She had a tiny tag hanging around her neck that was in the shape of a CAT HEAD!
OMGoodness! How awesome was that? I sent her a note right away and asked where she had found the tag. Being such a kitty person that I am....I had to find some of those tags.
She sent me all the details and I started searching.
Was having no luck until I got a note from yet another friend who said she had found them on Ebay! OH YEAH! So off to the auction I go and sure enough.....there they are!

The Hunt for Bobbins turns BAD
So I was all set to start my quest of beehive bobbins. Was given a name on EBAY to find some. Was told this was "the place" to get them. I saw they were a "power seller" and had a high feedback. I very foolishly NEVER looked further into their feedback.
I found the auctions and contacted them about a shipping quote to Canada. Was sent back an email that stated that I'd have to be a winner of one of their auctions to get a price quote for shipping. WHAT?????? How am I supposed to know if the shipping is going to kill me???? UGH
So even though every fibre of my being was sceaming NOOOOOO....... I placed my bid and I won myself 6 beehive bobbins. (Feb19)The actual bid wasn't bad. Had a bit of a bidding war going on with a few ladies. I swooped in with only seconds to spare and WON! The price was fair in comparison to others that I had seen be won.
It was late and I went to bed all smiling cause I had won some of the bobbins.
My smile was GONE the next morning when I got the statement that above what I had bid for the bobbins....I had now been charged $21US for shipping!!!! HOLY NOODLES! That is crazy for shipping. This is NOT the first thing that was being sent to me from the USA and that shipping quote knocked me flat.
I really wanted these dang bobbins though so I got up off the floor and dusted myself off...splashed cold water on my face and paid right then with PayPal.

Nothing was arriving in the mail.
I had heard not a single thing from this person about my parcel.
I sent an email to the seller (Mar3) asking what the situation was on my 6 beehive bobbins.
An email was sent back that stated they had been shipped to me on March 1.
WHAT?????
I have been waiting ALL this time and they had only JUST been sent out the day before????
The auction clearly states that they ship on Tuesdays thru friday.
I won on a Monday...... in your world isn't the next day a TUESDAY????
I was beyond livid! I had heard nothing about a delay in shipping.
I had already paid $21US and been waiting...... for what???????
I left my feedback right then!
NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!
My bobbins arrived on March 13.
Now I will say this....... the bobbins I won....... outstanding! I am LOVING them! I think they are going to be amazing to create with. Have already sketched out a design for something.
BUT!
The seller is someone I will NEVER deal with again.
I do NOT think I was treated fair at all in this situation.
A quote could have been given to me.

I found the auctions and contacted them about a shipping quote to Canada. Was sent back an email that stated that I'd have to be a winner of one of their auctions to get a price quote for shipping. WHAT?????? How am I supposed to know if the shipping is going to kill me???? UGH
So even though every fibre of my being was sceaming NOOOOOO....... I placed my bid and I won myself 6 beehive bobbins. (Feb19)The actual bid wasn't bad. Had a bit of a bidding war going on with a few ladies. I swooped in with only seconds to spare and WON! The price was fair in comparison to others that I had seen be won.
It was late and I went to bed all smiling cause I had won some of the bobbins.
My smile was GONE the next morning when I got the statement that above what I had bid for the bobbins....I had now been charged $21US for shipping!!!! HOLY NOODLES! That is crazy for shipping. This is NOT the first thing that was being sent to me from the USA and that shipping quote knocked me flat.
I really wanted these dang bobbins though so I got up off the floor and dusted myself off...splashed cold water on my face and paid right then with PayPal.

I was really starting to get worried now.
Nothing was arriving in the mail.
I had heard not a single thing from this person about my parcel.
I sent an email to the seller (Mar3) asking what the situation was on my 6 beehive bobbins.
An email was sent back that stated they had been shipped to me on March 1.
WHAT?????
I have been waiting ALL this time and they had only JUST been sent out the day before????
The auction clearly states that they ship on Tuesdays thru friday.
I won on a Monday...... in your world isn't the next day a TUESDAY????
I was beyond livid! I had heard nothing about a delay in shipping.
I had already paid $21US and been waiting...... for what???????
I left my feedback right then!

My bobbins arrived on March 13.
Now I will say this....... the bobbins I won....... outstanding! I am LOVING them! I think they are going to be amazing to create with. Have already sketched out a design for something.
BUT!
The seller is someone I will NEVER deal with again.
I do NOT think I was treated fair at all in this situation.
A quote could have been given to me.

BeeHive Bobbins
I had been seeing "beehive bobbins" being mentioned more and more in some of the wonderful primitive creations popping up all over. I was loving the look of them! So rustic and beyond perfect for creating a make-do.
My search began! LOL
I contacted friends who I knew had used them before in their creations. Got some wonderful tips on how to use them.
Got a source for them and I was ready to get crafty!
