The Art of Wild Abandonment Blog Hop

WELCOME!!!
Quite a number of us have been taking this incredible mixed media workshop "The Art of Wild Abandonment" by Christy Tomlinson and Junelle Jacobsen. Since so many of us also happen to blog, we thought it would be great fun to do a blog hop and talk about the course.

If you are following the Art of Wild Abandonment Bloghop, you have probably came here from Angie Ibbott Blom http://angieblomdesigns.blogspot.ca/. After you have read my post don’t forget to follow the bloghop onto Kay Boespflug http://www.nordljusfollowyourstar.blogspot.com/ . If you haven’t yet started the bloghop, why not join in the fun by visiting www.clairesmillie.wordpress.com and learning all about it”

Thanks to taking this incredible workshop I am now addicted to using these.
Ever seen them before??
They are Caran d'Ache Neocolorll Artist's Crayons

"Neocolor II crayons are softer than colored pencils, yet denser than children's wax crayons, and extremely responsive to a wet brush. Wet and dry techniques can be combined in the same drawing. Because of their strong pigmentation, light colors cover dark colors and

vice-versa."

It's like watercolor painting with more control. I am in love.

The array of colors to chose from is wonderful. I opted to buy the "40 pk" and can tell already that I will have to be getting a few more colors. I may have to bite the bullet and just get one of every color they offer. They make me feel like a little kid again sitting at my grandmother's kitchen table, coloring with my box of crayons and watching the page come to life with each stroke of new color.

The quince bush out from in my yard started blooming this week and I raced out with my camera to capture a few photos. I plan on sitting down the next week or so and sketching it onto watercolor paper that I just picked up. Then I'll be applying the Neocolor II and once again watching the page come to life with each stroke of new color.

 Enjoy the blog hop!

I love the Neocolor II crayons. I had never used them but really love the way they are so creamy on the page.

In love....me too! They are fabby :) I couldn't believe it when I realised the crayons Junelle was using were the ones I had purchased for a Donna Downey workshop last year and had hardly used since! They are gorgeous when you know how to work them! I've got the 40 box too, although I just found a shop that sells every single color seperatly...could be a dangerous find!!!!

Hey Tracy! Neo colors really are fun. I got a bit addicted to them too when I went down to Donna Downey's studio last fall. They are scrumptious and happy. Can't wait to see your piece of art. :)

OK I haven't purchased the Neocolors yet, because I already had a set of Staedtler's but after your post maybe I need to try those! Thanks for sharing!
